1. What versions of Maximo is Kurve compatible with?

  • Supported: 7.6.1
  • Investigation ongoing for MAS

2. Does Kurve support Maximo's Authentication?

  • Yes, we currently support Maximo Native Auth, LDAP basic auth, and Form Auth
  • For MAS, we support OIDC and OAuth

3. Are external servers required to run Kurve?

  •     No

4. Can Kurve be accessed outside of Maximo?

  • You cannot access the Kurve tool outside of Maximo without authentication.

5. Is downtime needed to install Kurve?

  • Some features will require rebuilding of the EAR file.  The length of downtime is dependent on a customer's Maximo setup.
  • The Kurve application can be installed without downtime if willing to give up the features that require redeploying the Ear.
  • The Maximo components consist of a custom portlet and a custom application to support response caching. These components must be installed in the Maximo EAR and require system down time, both to make the required database additions and to redeploy the Maximo EAR file.

6. How is Maximo data made accessible in the Kurve tool?

  • Data is made available to Kurve through Maximo's object structures. Object Structures with 'consumed by' = KURVE can be used to make Kurve visualizations.
  • We can query the data through the Maximo OSLC API or Kurve's SQL API

7. What is the installation impact?

  • It's highly dependent on usage, and object structure configuration, automation scripts, customizations, etc.
  • Expect impact to be minimal.
  • The Disk Space required for Kurve after installation is 5 megabytes. As users are added and records are created, this will increase.

8. What API's does Kurve use?

  • Kurve uses the Maximo OSLC API to pull data
  • Note: we are not using the 'maxrest' API

9. How are Kurve records stored in Maximo?

  • The Kurve graph and report configurations are stored in Kurve Automation Scripts.
  • The data for those tables remains where they are in the maximo db's

10. Are any System Properties being added to run Kurve?

  • No.

11. What is needed to install Kurve?

  • Maximo administrator and server access
    • Ability to authenticate to Maximo through the server
  • To install portlets and caching, we require the ability to rebuild the EAR/WAR file through either the Websphere Interface or command line (ssh into the host of your server)
